G.T. Moore | Carnival And Penitence

Carnival And Penitence

The woman in your painting seems so frail
If I could I know I'd ask her
Where it is she's bound to go
Where it is she's bound to go

Now and then I feel like crying,
Now and then I feel so cold.
But sometimes I want to go.
Sometimes I feel so old.
But that is for you to decide.

You come down from your hillside, singing psalms
We don't know why you are so holy
Or why you live so long
But it's sun and stars as usual.

Now and then I feel like crying
Now and then I feel like dying
But sometimes I want to go
Just as far as we could go.

Just as far as we could go (Now and then I feel like crying)
Just as far as we could go (Now and then I feel like crying)

But that is for you to decide
